Wish to know the right details about NAPLAN but getting confused and frustrated with different things that your family or friends are reciting to you? Well, with the help of this blog, you won't have to go through any confusion at all! With the help of our research experts, we have gathered the most authentic information in order to help you understand everything about NAPLAN. So, let's get started!

NAPLAN: Table Of Content

For people who are wondering what does NAPLAN stand for, it is basically the abbreviation for National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy. This is a yearly national assessment planned for students that are in 3, 5, 7 and 9 years. The basic format of NAPLAN consists of tests in writing, language conventions, reading and numeracy and all the students in their respective years are expected to participate when their time comes. The materials for the same are revised every year, and all governmental as well as non-governmental education bodies contribute to the development of the same.

NAPLAN Test Papers: Where And When Is It Conducted?

NAPLAN tests are divided into 4-5 different tests, and all the students sitting for the test have to spend 3 days every year in order to fulfil the requirements for the same. The test is run by an educational organisation known as ACARA, which is an abbreviation for the word Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority.

The tests are conducted in private, public and Christian schools in Australia and are attempted by students in large halls or school halls in groups divided by their respective years. The idea of conducting these tests is to switch students from paper-based assessments to computer-based assessments.

If a student is not familiar with the idea of these tests, then they can make use of several NAPLAN online practice test papers in order to get a hold of the format before making the final attempt.

NAPLAN Writing: What All Is Involved?

NAPLAN writing prompts include four tests in total. Let's have a look at what these tests are:

  • NAPLAN Language Conventions
  • Language Conventions NAPLAN is the type of test that examines a student's English, spelling, language and grammar understanding according to Australian standards. When students come across NAPLAN past paper, they will realise that the questions are either in fill-in-the-blank form or stated in the form of multiple choice questions.
